Although the first episode was immensely enjoyed by the drama lovers, however, it also left them confused about who is who and what part their characters portray. But as the drama proceeds further, these minor confusions also seem to evaporate in thin air.
The story is a light-hearted take on complicated relationships and the sweet and sour moments they share. Faaz (Osman Khalid Butt) is the heir to his deceased parents’ pesticides business and the only brother of three sisters – Gul (Meera Sethi), Rumi (Hira Soomro), and Mishi (Aymen Saleem) who’re embarked on the mission along their grandma to get him married to a beautiful, young girl. Whereas, Faaz wants an educated, mature and sensible girl. Osman’s character so far has been a mix of an angry young man like most desi big brothers but with a caring heart at the same time.
On the other hand, the daughter of his step-uncle (Farhan Ali Agha) who lives next door, Meenu (Ayeza khan) is the complete opposite. She’s bubbly, irresponsible, clumsy and full of life. Because of Meenu’s lack of interest in studies, her father requested Faaz to be her tutor as he’s the only one she’s afraid of. Ayeza khan’s acting has been childish due to the character’s demand and she’s certainly nailing it. It’ll be interesting to witness how these two opposites will end up together.
And great shout out to her costume designer, because we’re totally digging her wardrobe which is absolute goals, for teenage and young adult girls.
Meanwhile, Hadi (Arsalan Naseer) like most of the youngsters is struggling to land himself a job that’s worthy of his qualifications. Being Faaz’s step-cousin and best bud, they both are put in constant competition by their families, so looking for a girl for him is also natural, which he’s finally got. His marriage is fixed with a Canadian national and Hadi is over the moon but is confused because of the compatibility issues. But Mishi is heartbroken to know this because of her obvious attraction towards him. Arsalan’s fans are enjoying his performance immensely just like his videos, his comedic sense and acting skills have proven he is here for a long run.
Ali Safina also deserves an honorable mention here. In his portrayal of a character of a small towner, live-in son-in-law, he’s constantly belittled by his wife and her family but he does not pay two cents to it. The mid-partition hairstyle and dialect have left the viewers in fits of laughter.
The rest of the supporting cast fits together like the pieces of jigsaw puzzles. Each character is unique and entertaining, every scene leaving us in giggles. From captivating scenes, great acting to hilarious dialogues, there is not a single moment you feel bored. A small cameo from Nadia Hussain as Mai Chu-Mantar was amusing, too. And the two grannies’ Naik Perveen(Asma Abbas) and Bakhto (Uzma Beg) persistent bickering and plotting against each other is a whole mood altogether.
So, stay tuned to find out more. If not… Malangi ki baddualagegi!
