NEW PRODUCTION SHOTS REVEAL GLAMOUR AND DRAMA OF BOMBAY SUPERSTARS AS THE SHOW HITS THE STAGE

Phizzical has just unveiled a stunning set of new production shots from their latest musical, Bombay Superstars. The vibrant imagery showcases the glitz, glamour, and high-stakes drama of 1970s Bollywood, setting the stage for a must-see musical journey through ambition, desire, and the electrifying world of India’s film industry.

After a successful pre-West End showcase concert on the 12th September at Dance City, Newcastle, and a one-night debut on 15th September at His Majesty’s Theatre in the heart of London’s West End, Bombay Superstars has now opened for a full run. The musical is currently playing at Beck Theatre, Hayes, from Friday, 8th November to Sunday, 17th November.

Set against the dazzling backdrop of 1970s Bombay, Bombay Superstars tells the story of an orphaned girl navigating the star-studded yet treacherous world of Bollywood. The plot revolves around legendary film director Pavan Picturewalla, his beloved daughter Mala, rising actor Arjun, and the ambitious superstar Bunty. As secrets unfold and ambitions collide, the audience is treated to a tale of love, betrayal, and fierce rivalry, all underscored by a classic Bollywood soundtrack that will delight fans both old and new.

Visionary creator Sâmir Bhamra brings this period piece to life with a vibrant mix of romance, intrigue, and unforgettable music. Featuring iconic Bollywood hits like “Bachna Ae Haseeno,” “Dum Maro Dum,” “Khaike Paan,” “Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum,” and “Chura Liya,” the production also introduces new songs by Robby Khela with musical arrangements by Hinal Pattani.

The star-studded cast includes Rekha and Chirag Rao in their West End debuts as Rani and Arjun, alongside Omar Khan (Life of Pi, Wyndham’s Theatre) returning to the West End as Pavan. Joining them are Sowmya JayKrish, Robby Khela, Sheetal Pandya, and Rukmini Sircar, who round out a dynamic ensemble in this tale of love and ambition.
