REVIEW: Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue

The story of the late Sardar Jaswant Singh Gill is an unknown one that no-one never knew. And who better to play a hero other than the one and only Akshay Kumar? One man… 65 miners… 48 hours. A rescue mission unheard off from anyone is the world.

Stepping into the shoes of a real-life person is understandably a tough job to do. Having to get their personality right, their mannerisms and even their look can be a daunting task. However, Akshay Kumar plays the late engineer with such finesse that you forget that this is actually Akshay Kumar.

The story is compelling from start to finish. The director (Tinu Suresh Desai) does well to showcase Gill’s determination and the panic the miners went through that he went out of his way to build a 40-feet hole.

Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue is a true-blue story of perseverance and heroism. Catch it in cinemas now!
