Syed Jehanian Zee5’s new series The Broken News is an in-depth look into how media houses in India works. There is good and bad, but the bad makes the most noise and it entertains more. What happens when a few righteous ones take matters into their hands and decide to expose the evils is the show.
The series follows two new channels: one focuses on the truth whilst the other focuses on spicing up the truth. The show creates a reel world that doesn’t really show the real world and it does succeed. And that good because it manages to say a lot without really naming anyone. The basic contrast of ideologies is enough to make you realise that it is based on how the media works.
Sonali Bendre makes her acting comeback after almost a decade. The actress still has her charm and the comfort she shared with the camera. She is perfect for the role that she is given and it’s refreshing to see her on screen. Jaideep Ahlawat has the diciest job as he almost becomes another character. The actor saves himself most of the times and brings the darkness into the show. The actor does it all quite effortlessly and shows you how talented he is.
The Broken News is full of suspense and keeps you wondering what will happen next.
